Reales de La Vega (LNB) added to their roster 31-year old American forward Raphiael Putney (207cm-91kg-90, college: UMass). Putney played last summer at San Lazaro in the TBS. In 13 games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.8ppg, 8.2rpg, 1.5apg and 1.8bpg. He helped them to make it to the Dominican Rep. TBS League final after they ended regular season as second best team. Quite impressive year as he was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Dominican Rep. TBS 1st Team.
Part of last season he spent at Wolves in U.S. NBA-G-League where in 6 games he averaged 9.0ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.3apg and 1.3bpg. He also played for Mad Ants in U.S. NBA-G-League. In four games he had 5.0ppg and 2.8rpg.
Putney is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in nine different countries. He tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Australia, Colombia (Team Cali), France (Chalon/Saor), Hungary (Atomeromu), Italy (Caserta and Scafati), Puerto Rico (Atleticos), Venezuela (Guaiqueries), NBA (Miami Putneyat and San Antonio Spurs) and NBA G League (Sioux Falls S., Rio Grande Valley Vipers and College Park S.).
He won D-League Soutwest Division championship title in 2016.
He attended University of Massachusetts until 2014 and it will be his ninth season as a professional player.
On Putney: Extremely Athletic and a joy to watch in the open court! With 7-foot-3 inch wingspan he has the length and size to be a great perimeter and post-up defender. Very versatile player who can play multiple positions. Not only is he a great basketball player, he is an outstanding individual on and off the court.
